Chicken and paneer together makes a delicious combo with a soft texture. I love this recipe and make it as a substitute for South Indian Chicken Kola urundai/Chicken balls, which is also a very delicious one. Being weekend I try to make the best recipe so that my husband can enjoy them hot and fresh, on other days he eats food from his lunch box that is almost cold and has lost the freshness. And so, today I made Coconut rice, which is my big hit recipe (click here for recipe) with Chicken vindhari, a yummy gravy and these delicious and Soft chicken paneer balls, although my husband is not crazy about chicken, he loves my cooking and so he eats anything I prepare for him. These balls are very tender and just dissolves in your mouth. Kids will love this, instead of the regular cutlets and rolls you can try this for a change. You can also make manchurian using these balls. It can be served as a starter or snack or side-dish. Now lets go to the recipe.
INGREDIENTS
Serves 2 People, you will get approximately 10 small balls
Total Preparation Time - 20 minutes
Total Preparation Time - 20 minutes

- Paneer - 100 grams
- Shallots/Pearl onions - 4
- Garlic pods - 2
- Cumin seeds - 1 spoon
- Red chilli powder - 1 spoon
- Ginger-Garlic paste - 1/2 spoon
- Egg yolk - 1
- Corn flour/All purpose flour - 2 spoons
- Salt - As per taste
- Oil - For deep frying
PREPARATION METHOD
- Wash chicken and chop it into smaller ones.
- Put it in a blender and grind it.
- Take out the ground chicken and set aside.
- Similarly grind paneer also and set aside.
- Now grind the shallots and garlic pods and set aside.
- In a bowl make a dough using the following
- Ground chicken + Ground paneer + Ground shallots and garlic pods + Egg yolk + Cumin seeds + Red chilli powder + Ginger-garlic paste + Corn flour + Salt
- Do not add even a drop of water.
- To a pan add oil and place it on a medium flame.
- Meanwhile, mix the dough well and shape small balls out of it.
- Grease with oil / Wet your palms in water before making balls to avoid the dough getting stuck to your palms.
- Deep fry them in the pre-heated oil until it turns golden brown.
- Garnish and Serve!!
TIP 1 : You can make this recipe without Paneer also.
TIP 2: Do not keep stiring the balls while frying, handle gently, because they may break.
TIP 3: Never add water to the dough, it must be thick. Only then you will get the perfect balls.
TIP 4: Instead of egg yolk you can add besan flour also.
They look yummy.. will try them out soon.
