INGREDIENTS
Serves 2 Chicken loversTotal Preparation Time - 15 to 20 minutes
- Chicken - 200 grams (Boneless)
- Oats - 1 cup (rolled oats)
- All purpose flour/Maida - 4 spoons
- Corn flour - 4 spoons (you can replace it with maida)
- Beaten egg - 2 tablespoons (beat an egg well and use 2 tablespoons from it)
- Garlic pod - 1 (crushed)
- Red chilli powder - 1 teaspoon (optional)
- Pepper powder - 1/2 tablespoon
- Chat Masala - 2 pinches (or) Italian Seasonings - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - As per taste
- Oil - For frying
PREPARATION METHOD
- Wash and chop chicken into smaller pieces.
- To a bowl add the following and make a thick batter; All purpose flour, corn flour, beaten egg, crushed garlic pod, pepper powder, red chilli powder, chat masala (or) Italian seasonings, salt and little water. See that the batter is not runny.
- Then add the chicken pieces to this batter and coat them well. (You can stop with this step and deep fry the batter coated pieces. Or proceed to the next step)
- Then pick out the pieces and roll them in oats. Press gently so that the oats get stuck to the pieces well. If not it will disintegrate into oil.
- Now place a pan on flame and pour sufficient oil into it, you can either deep fry them or shallow fry them.
- After the oil heats up gently slide the chicken pieces into oil and fry until they turn golden brown.
- Serve with sauce or plain.
TIP 1: There's no need for any marination here, just deep fry it after coating. It will taste good. But if you want very tender meat pieces then marinate the pieces in buttermilk and place in refrigerator overnight. Next day wash and use them.
TIP 2: Add a pinch of garlic powder and onion powder instead of crushed garlic to get even more better flavors.
