Baby potatoes are favorites for many people, the cute little potatoes are tasty and looks appetizing. This baby potato fry is for people who love baby potatoes. It is a tasty treat and goes well as a side-dish with sambar rice or curd rice or just having it as a starter or evening snack. Potatoes are good source of Carbohydrates and other vital nutrients, you can make it for kids and grown ups alike. But people who are on diet can avoid frying potatoes and cook it other ways. INGREDIENTS
- Baby Potatoes - 10
- Egg - 1 (Vegetarians can avoid egg)
- Gram flour/Besan flour - 5 spoons
- Ginger-Garlic paste - 1/2 spoon
- Curd - 1 spoon
- Kasoori Methi/Dry fenugreek leaves - 1/4 spoon
- Red chilli powder - 2 spoons
- Fennel seeds - 1/4 spoon
- Salt - As required
- Oil - For deep frying
PREPARATION METHOD
- In a bowl mix all the following ingredients together to make a thick paste and keep aside.
- Gram flour/Besan flour + Ginger-Garlic paste + Curd + Crushed fennel seeds + Crushed Kasoori Methi/Dry fenugreek leaves + Red chilli powder + Salt
- Wash the potatoes well and boil the potatoes for 15 minutes.
- Peel the skin and using a fork prick on the potatoes (to let masala penetrate into the potatoes).
- Now marinate the potatoes using the prepared paste and leave aside for atleast 15 minutes.
- Deep fry until it turns reddish and serve.
TIP 1: You can avoid egg and use roasted chana dal powder.
TIP 2: You can also make the same fry with cauliflower.
TIP 3: See that the paste is thick enough to coat the baby potatoes well. If it is too watery add some extra flour or corn flour. You can prepare the same with ordinary potatoes. Just slice or chop into cubes and use them.
