Apple Milk | Drink For Toddlers And Kids

This is not apple smoothie / milkshake, it is a drink made of milk and apple. It is so thin and has the drinking consistency unlike the milkshakes and am sure this will be a delight to apple lovers and kids. Instead of flavoring the milk with same malt and chocolaty powders you can make this healthy drink for your kids. This is the best energy and health drink, and so good for anemic people, especially women and kids. If you are too conscious about health you can use skimmed milk and avoid sweetening agents too. This drink is so simple to make and you can get Calcium, Vitamins, and necessary Minerals from the same glass. Needs very few ingredients and even kids can prepare this drink in no time. It is sure a yummy combo, try this and you will love it.

INGREDIENTS

(Serves 2 glasses)

  1. Apple slices - 3 to 4
  2. Boiled Milk - 2 glasses
  3. Sugar  - 3 spoons (or as per taste)
  4. Ice cubes - Few (Optional)

PREPARATION METHOD

  • Add all the above ingredients in a blender and blend well until it turns smooth.
  • Add ice cubes or serve chilled! (You can strain the drink using a muslin cloth or serve as it is)

TIP 1: You can sprinkle some cinnamon powder before serving if you wish.

TIP 2: If you are too conscious about health you can use honey or avoid sweetening agents.

TIP 3: If you add too much of apple slices will become mushy and you won't get the drinking consistency.

TIP 4: Do not use hot milk it may get curdled.

Yummy apple milk is now ready!! You will surely fall in love with this drink!! Serve anytime!!

  25. How is this good for anemia? Apples are not an iron rich food!

    1. So hi, good question apple juice has iron content (11milligrams in 100 grams) but the trick here is apple juice has some levels of Vitamin C that improves and promotes iron absorption, thereby gets rid of anemia. Also the Vitamin-C in apples is able to overpower the inhibitory effects of tannin, a substance that avoids iron absorption. The basic thing is our body cannot produce Vitamin-C we must get it from our diet/intake of food. Taking half a cup of apple juice everyday help maintain your hemoglobin (it is the iron containing protein in your blood cells) level. Also it has copper needed by the body for the production of hemoglobin. I think this explanation will do.. :) Thanks!
