Fresh Mango Juice | Pulpy Mango Juice

Mangoes are one of the delicacies that summer offers and am sure no one would purposely miss tasting even a slice of it. The only worry is, it is a seasonal fruit and definitely one has to wait for its grand arrival. And the wait is worth it. Summer has arrived already in India and has been penalizing everyone with its scorching heat. Who wouldn't love a fresh and chilled pulpy mango juice on such a hot day? I guess there would be none!! During childhood days we were so lazy and crazy enough that we did not even need a juicer or blender to make mango juice; no peeling or chopping required too!! we would rather squeeze nice, ripe, juicy mangoes using our hands then make a hole in the mango skin then suck out the juice directly from it, sounds silly and fussy but it tasted divine and was definitely fun. There was no bar no limit to fun during those kiddish days, no table manners, no worry about all the mess and fuss. Years have passed by but memories are always golden, whenever I prepare mango juice I relish those wonderful memories in every sip.

This pulpy juice that I have posted abut today, is not a smoothie, but lies slightly on the pulpy side, it is obviously difficult to separate juice completely from the pulp in case of mangoes, but the juice that I have prepared and shared with you today has some flow-y consistency as well as some pulp in it. I can have liters of mango drinks; smoothie, juice or shakes or whatever, and any number of mango flavored ice-cream scoops, I strongly believe there is some magical flavor in fresh ripe mangoes. The aroma of mangoes tell you how tasty and ripe it is and will make you crave for a bite even before you peel them, on the whole its a divine fruit I must say. If you are a mango lover then try this mangolicious drink, its already mango season and its high time you try this drink!!

Check out my yummilicious mango milkshake here!!

INGREDIENTS

Serves 3 to 4 glasses
Total Preparation Time - 5 minutes
  1. Ripe Mangoes - 2 (I got approximately 440 grams of pulp)
  2. Sugar - 50 grams (approximately 5 to 6 spoons)
  3. Chilled water - 250 ml or as required

PREPARATION METHOD

  • Skin (peel the skin) from a mango and chop into smaller cubes. Discard the seed.
  • Then add sugar into a saucepan and pour water until the sugar gets immersed. Place on flame and stir well until it gets dissolved. Remove from flame, strain to remove dirt and set aside.
  • Now add the mango pieces into a blender or mixer or juicer and blend well until smooth.
  • Now pour the chilled water and sugar water and blend again. Strain using a big pored strainer if its too fibrous. If you want a less pulpy juice then strain using a clean cloth.
  • Pour into serving glasses and serve!! Consume within a day or two. Does not keep long.

TIP 1: If your mango is sweet enough then reduce the amount of sugar. Sometimes drizzling some lemon juice can make it even more refreshing.

TIP 2: If you want it to be very pulpy(the smoothie kind) then do not add too much of water. Instead of adding ice-cubes add chilled water to relish thick undiluted juice in every sip.

TIP 3: Add water little by little, never add all the water at once, sometimes the flavor will get lost and become watery, it depends on each mango variety.

Smooth, Divine and Mangolicious Juice is now ready!! Enjoy sipping on a hot summer day!!
