Little one desperately wanted to make a recipe video and kept nudging me to do one with her. Its been a long time since we made a video together, she loves getting involved and we always tend to have a great time together doing it. She seemed to miss it so much and I finally among the very hectic schedule decided to shoot a simple one involving her! Didn't plan anything ahead so chose an easy recipe and we enjoyed doing every bit of it :) Its just about 40 seconds long, do check it out if you'd like to. Now about the recipe, this is my go to milkshake recipe most days when I have no time to sit down and have a meal. The recipe is very time saving, easy to prepare and healthy but tastes totally yum. Dates is naturally sweet and so you will not need anything extra to sweeten the milkshake, but you can also use brown sugar or whatever sweetener as per your taste.
INGREDIENTS
Serves one person
Total Preparation Time - 5-6 minutes
- Seedless dates - 3 pieces
- Oats - 2 teaspoons
- Brown sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Milk - 1 cup
PREPARATION METHOD
- Place a pan on flame and roast oats until you get a nice aroma. Be careful not to burn it. Remove from flame and keep aside until it cools down. If serving for adults you can also soak oats and use it.
- Now add chopped dates, roasted oats, brown sugar and milk to a blender and blend well until smooth.
- Pour into a serving glass and serve! You can refrigerate and serve chilled later.
TIP 1: You can also add a piece of banana to enhance the taste.
TIP 2: You can also use yogurt instead of milk.
